A current, category-by-category account of browser storage, including what is prepared but not yet active.
Strictly necessary
- Supabase authentication session (local storage, usually named sb-<project>-auth-token): keeps an anonymous player attached to the correct room and registered accounts signed in. It expires or is replaced when sessions refresh.
- ryf-privacy-consent (local storage): records the version, time and optional purposes you accepted or rejected so the choice is respected and the first-visit message is not repeatedly shown.
- rank-your-friends-locale and ryf-theme (local storage): remember language and appearance choices that you explicitly request. Without them, defaults are used.
Functional
No current optional functional feature places browser storage. This category is reserved so a future convenience feature can be described and controlled without being mixed with analytics or advertising.
Analytics
Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are optional and render only after analytics consent. They measure service usage and performance separately from the game's server-side operational records. Rejecting analytics prevents their browser components from loading. Provider documentation must be reviewed again before production advertising is enabled.
Advertising and marketing
No advertising, behavioural-tracking or social-media cookies currently load. Advertising placeholders are first-party layout elements and make no advertising requests. The advertising preference is reserved for a future certified consent platform; choosing it now does not activate ads. Provider names, storage entries, purposes and durations must be added here before activation.
Changing or clearing choices
Use Privacy preferences in the footer to change or withdraw optional consent. Clearing browser data removes the saved choice and causes the first-visit prompt to return; it may also sign you out, reset language and theme, and stop an active room from recognising the same player.
